Confidentiality and Use of Personal Data

As we aim to provide you with the best possible quality of health care, we must keep records about you. In order for this high standard to be maintained, please give us as much detail as you can, about you and your health. These records about you are used to help us ensure your care is appropriate and effective. However, we have a duty to keep your records confidential, safe and accurate and we promise we will endeavour to do so.

There are times when it may be beneficial to you if we pass on your information to other health professionals who will contribute to your care. However, you do have a right, under the Data Protection Act 1998 to ask fora copy of all records about you.

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, you have the right to access all types of recorded information held by the practice. If you would like further information, there are leaflets available in the waiting room, which go into more detail about health records and confidentiality.

Please don't hesitate in contacting Helen Wiseman, Practice Manager, if you need further help.
